We see a cemetery. And as we pan through the cemetery, Rupert Giles’ voice is heard.
GILES
In every generation, there is a chosen One. She alone will stand against the vampires, the demons, and the forces of darkness. She is the Slayer!
EXT. Sunnydale Park
We pan down from the top of the trees to see three girls walking down the main street. Sounds from the Bronze echo in the background. The girls are drunk and walking oddly and giggling with each other as they chatter.
GIRL #1
And so I said, I don’t care! Give me another!
After saying this, the other two girls burst out into laughter. RENEE, the blond one starts to move to the park. And LILY, a brunette, keeps on chattering about how the bartender at the Bronze wouldn’t give her another drink. SUZIE, the third girl, a dark brown-haired girl, just goes with the flow and follows Renee.
LILY
RENEE! SUZ! Where are you going? We have to find our way home. Wherever that is.
Renee looks back at Lily and frowns.
RENEE
C’mon, Lil! I need to rest. These high-heels are killing me.
LILY
It’s because they’re cheap! You bought them at a cheap Women’s Apparel store in the mall!
Two guys enter from the West side of the park. JACK and MICHAEL, two vampires, walk in on the two girls fighting.
JACK
Fresh and hot meat!
Baring his fangs, Jack moves in for the kill. He flings himself on Renee and begins to struggle. With fangs extended, Michael goes after Lily and Suzie. Suzie screams, but can’t move.
But before Michael can begin sucking the life out of Lily, a white figure passes him and Michael receives a kick to the stomach. He looks over to see Xander Harris staring at him.
MICHAEL
You’re going to pay for that.
XANDER
Really? I’m scared.
The vampire growls.
XANDER
NO! Really, I’m scared. SCARE STRAIGHT!
Xander starts running as Michael follows. Xander turns the corner of the tree in front of him. In one quick movement, Xander breaks a branch and thrusts the makeshift stake home.
Vampire explodes to dust.
We pan quickly to see Jack advancing on Renee, as she stands there frightened. Can’t move a muscle. Jack smiles and leaps in for the bite.
The camera changes to behind Renee; we look at Jack turning his neck, moving Renee’s long hair aside. Behind him we see a very pissed blonde. Buffy Summers stands behind with stake raised high.
BUFFY
HEY!
Jack turns. He looks at the girl awkwardly.
JACK
Who the hell are you?
Buffy smiles.
BUFFY
News must not travel very fast in this town. I’m Buffy, the Slayer. And…
She rams the stake home. His face expression goes from awkward to surprised.
BUFFY
Your worst nightmare.
JACK
SSSSSSSSSSSSSHHHIIIII-----
Before he could finish he is dusted.
Buffy turns to see Lily and Suzie on top of Xander, who lays on the ground.
LILY & SUZIE
OH! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
The two girls chatter on their thanks as they kiss Xander on the cheek. Some of the kisses hit his lips. This would never happen again to Xander.
XANDER
Well, ladies, I’m glad that you find my services to you so grateful.
Buffy looks on. She has a slight smirk on her face.
BUFFY
Are we done?
Xander looks at Buffy as Lily and Suzie get off him. He smiles slightly and picks himself up. He walks over to Buffy while wiping the dirt off of his shirt.
XANDER
We ought to do this more often, Buf.
She pulls him out of the park.
BUFFY
C’mon, Zorro.
We fade out seeing Buffy and Xander walking towards the Bronze. In fades the
Buffy theme song from Nerf Herder.
OPENING CREDITS
We see the regular show credits play with BTVS starting first with the Buffy theme song playing in the background. Anya and Spike’s names are added along with their pictures. Once finished we switch to the opening of every Angel show opening credits. The violin song that is known as the Angel theme song begins to play. The actors’ faces are placed with their names, just like the show.
