BtVS Season 1 DVD's Coming Soon... We hope so!
For many of us who have DVD players and are fans of Buffy the wait for Season 1 of the show has long been waited. And the people in Great Britain have been able to get their hands on these treasure trove discs. Recently, according to BuffyGuide.com, it has been said that the Region 1 Encoding (US/Canada) release of the DVD Pack Buffy Season 1 will be coming sometime near the end of next year. I was glad to read this instead of the supposed release in 2010 according to Amazon.com! If this word is correct then the DVD's shall be ready by the mid-part of Season 6 and the gang's 3rd Year in College.
Some old but important news: Should Doyle have died?
The tragic and sad episode Heroes debuted itself on the WB many months ago in Season 1 of Angel. This episode should have been banned, in my opinion. For many of those who liked the character Doyle, or even the Becoming Episode character Whistler (whom I believe Glenn Quinn was going to be in the show, but was changed). This episode and the news of the horrible death of Doyle and the possible love between Cordelia and Doyle. Now if they wanted, the writers could've kept Doyle and still brought Wesley and Gunn on. Now what is wrong with that. The show would definitely be more funny with Wesley's wit and humor and Doyle's great personality and Gunn's..... Well whatever Gunn has.
If I was in charge of the show I would not have let such good talent go. I would have signed Glenn Quinn for a full multi-year contract. But also if I was running the show, then Jenny Calender would never have died either. But I think Joss has a good reason for that. **See the interview on the Buffy/Angel Love Chronicles Season Two Three-Pack**
I just wanted to vent a little. So don't mind this rant. But many Doyle fans out there would probably agree with me. If you do, then please do drop me an email with your ideas and rants on this ever-long-lasting subject.
Season 1 Shooting Script Books On Sale NOW!
On November 28th, 2000, the shooting scripts for Season 1 were published in mass-market paperback in two volumes containing the entire shooting script to every season 1 episode. There are 6 episodes per volume. The volumes are $14 each at any book store but at Amazon.com, you can get them for $11 to $12 each.
I began watching Buffy near the end of Season 2. SHAME ON ME! So I missed a whole lot of Seasons 1 & 2. Thanks to the WB's replaying of many episodes and the episode packs for Seasons 1 & 2, I have been able to watch some of the episodes I missed. But some for Season 1 were left out. I missed out on the death of Buffy and Xander's CPR that revived her. And many other great moments in the history of our favorite Scooby Gang and their powerful Slayer. But thanks to these two books, I was able to read the actual scripts that were used in shooting and read what the script writer and the director wanted you to be able to read.
So I suggest you to ask for Christmas or go out yourself and buy these two great pieces of merchandise for Buffy, the Vampire Slayer. And these are pretty big sized books, so imagine what Season 2 will look like whenever they decide to release those scripts!
